What benefit does continuous structural (SHM) monitoring bring?
Continuous SHM, through the detection and analysis of vibrations, frequencies and mode shapes, makes it possible to analyse the real behaviour of a structure over time, providing objective data that visual inspections alone cannot capture. Continuous data collection from the bridge also allows a very large volume of data to be analysed, enabling an accurate prediction of how the mechanical characteristics decay over time
Why wireless instead of wired?
